Whisper paused as she followed Kipxin to the den site, it was spacious which suited her and she could tell that there were enough dens to accommodate a large pack along with the alpha's den. She silently observed as the alpha moved over to a den under a pine before motioning to her. She followed Kipxin to a smaller den, it was made it the correct soil, it would not allow rain to seep through under the pine and could be dug out into a small cave. She looked at it, it looked comfy but she knew that it might not be so, she paused peering into it, trying to think why Kipxin was showing her this. Finally Kipxin spoke and her words didn't make her questions dissapear, she tried to think her answer through, it was a nice den, but she got the impression that that wasn't what Kipxin meant. She finally settled on something neutral in a respectful tone, so even if her words were wrong the alpha would know she was not a threat or was not trying to disrespect her " It's one of the best, a good spot and room for growth" carefully articulating her words, trying not to seem hesitant. Even though she was of lower rank she knew that she wasn't allowed to show weakness, weakness implied death was in your future and Whisper had no intentions to die any time soon. When Kipxin did not speak for a moment she was about to ask why the alpha was showing her this, was it a place to put kill or food? Whisper paused a moment more before Kole trotted up from behind he spoke before clambering in, trying to fit himself into the small space before he glanced back. Then he spoke and his words almost froze her in place, sleep...in there? It took a considerable amount of effort to keep her feet from backing up, and even though she knew packs slept in relatively the same place she hadn't expected to be that...intimate, even if Whisper slightly trusted Kipxin she still didn't know about the rest of the wolves. What could she say, whisper's heart was beating like a hummingbird's as she struggled for words, she couldn't even imagine spending much time down there, it was almost as if oppressive walls were already coming down on her. Whisper managed to calm herself in time to respond, how could she say that she just was not going to sleep there? finally whisper spoke it was a cautious and respectful tone "I think that I am more suited to sleeping outside" immediately she regretted her words but she ignored it she had spoken and she couldn't take it back. |KIPXIN|
The events unfolded in such a way Kipxin felt as though she lost control of the situation. At first, she presented one of her favorite dens to Whisper, yet she didn't seem to like it. In a moment of confusion and lack of a reply, Kole had trotted up and slid into the tiny space, curling up into a tight circle before blurting out a question that caused both her and Whisper to take a step back in astonishment.
"That was a bit forward"
Kipxin thought to herself. She wasn't sure who exactly he was addressing, but Whisper retaliated with a response before the alpha could figure out what was happening:
"I think I am more suited to sleeping outside,"
As soon as Whisper had finished speaking, she seemed to inwardly reflect what she was saying. Kipxin, paying more attention to Whisper now that she was trying to avoid Kole's question, shook her head and flashed a friendly grin.
"Nonsense, why don't we go for a walk and you can find a den you like?"
Kipxin's tail wagged as she continued,
"There's a few more dens closer to mine if you'd like to take a look."

Whisper paused, she had watched Kipxin's reaction carefully, no sense of aggression, but Whisper thought she could sense a confusion, and tried to find the source. Whisper glanced at Kole, maybe she was wondering why Kole was going to sleep in the same den as her when it was obvious that he was her mate, maybe it was a good thing that Whisper had opted to sleep outside, it was winter, the thought stopped her in her tracks, maybe that was the reason she felt that way about Azreal. But she shoved the thought aside she would examine it later. The alpha grinned which made Whisper uneasy it was a flash of teeth that made her want to respond with a growl but the expression on the alpha's face was friendly. Then Kipxin spoke, it sounded like there was warmth in her voice but Whisper almost shook her head at the thought, it wasn't just Kole that bothered her it was sleeping inside a cramped space, it was too, oppressive. Whisper was about to respond but Kipxin wagged her tail and finished her thought. A den near the alpha, Whisper wondered if Kipxin thought she was being arrogant, it was a great den, but did Kipxin think that she wanted better? Whisper sighed, she rarely stayed in one place very long, to her it was amazing that she wouldn't constantly have to look behind her back, or fall asleep uneasy, and wake up periodically. But how could she express that, her face remained expressionless but her head was a rush of thoughts. Finally she spoke, maybe Kipxin would understand if she was honest, the thought struck her, when had she been completely honest with anyone? Ever? Even with her friend they never shared their pasts, they just enjoyed being with other wolves. She had tricked wolves and picked on weaker wolves, but honesty, it was like loyalty, only when it suited her, it wasn't natural. Pushing that aside she convinced herself for the moment, this is where her loyalties laid her voice was smooth and respectful "I'm sorry" she paused hesitant for only a fraction of a second, her voice faltered for a moment then smoothed out to its original tone "I don't like small spaces" she wasn't sure whether those were the right words or not, and flicked her ears nervously, but like her last she knew that she could not take them back.

|KIPXIN|
Kipxin listened to Whisper as she spoke. She seemed extremely uncomfortable around her and Kipxin tilted her head as she tried to analyze her reactions. It was strange for her to feel as if someone she cared about was actually afraid of her, but she figured she'd give Whisper her space. She didn't know much about her or where she came from, but she hoped over time they could become friends and Whisper would open up to her.
Kipxin's tail stopped wagging and she pushed back her ears a bit. It was different - a wolf that didn't want a den. But after she tried to see Whisper's side of it, she returned back to her original state and her tail began swaying again. After all, Whisper was a scout, and if she felt more comfortable sleeping outside, then it wasn't going to harm anyone. She was just worried she didn't feel as if she was going to stay; that her new friend and family member might leave. But she had faith in Whisper - she was loyal and had proved it on multiple occasions.
Kipxin tried to sound as comforting as she could as she spoke; she knew now how timid Whisper was and didn't want her thinking she was angry with her.
"That's perfectly fine, as long as you think it's warm enough."
Grinning, she decided to add,
"And if you do change your mind, feel free to just dig out your own den. Just don't forget to mark it as yours."
With a flick of her tail she looked towards the den where Kole was laying. She wondered where the rest of the pack was and where they disappeared to.

Whisper tensed as Kipxin paused seeming to contemplate her words, and then the alpha flattened her ears and it took a decent amount of effort not to roll onto her back or simply say 'I can take a den' simply not to offend the alpha. But then Kipxin spoke and her words released the tension she didn't know that she had been holding. This time whisper realized when the alpha grinned, and the warmth made her want to flash back a similar one, but Whisper didn't it was something she had never learned how to do. Whisper didn't quiet sigh, but her exhale was one of relief, she had hoped that the alpha didn't feel insulted, because that was one thing she didn't want to do. And it wasn't just because of Kipxin's rank, whisper paused trying to place it, there was gratitude in her feelings, Kipxin had taken her in, called her family when most would chase her away, but Whisper sensed that this feeling was different, it was a form of respect, but not from fear. Whisper almost shook her head, it didn't make sense, to her respect was always based off fear, it was either from a direct threat or an indirect threat. Whisper paused, as Kipxin's attention seemed to wander, for a moment Whisper considered telling her, telling her why, crashing down the walls she had put up, finding the memories that she had tried to forget, that she knew were bubling on the surface barely contained, Kipxin seemed to hold a certain respect for her too. It wasn't that she respected her as a higher member it was almost as if Kipxin respected her as a wolf, because she realized that there were things that she could not make her do. Whisper was almost on the verge of givng in but like always there was more than one wall to break down. Whisper didn't regret it, the wall of ice had kept her safe, kept her from plunging into darkness when her friend died, kept her living while her siblings fell dead from a slow painful demise around her, kept her from giving in and showing pity, kept her alive. But because the alpha would probably wonder what she was going to say whisper spoke and this time the gratitude was real, and she didn't have to think to put respect into her voice, it felt natural "thank you" and then she dipped her head. Even if she didn't like closed off spaces she did want her sleeping place to be cozy, and like Kipxin had said warm, so she scented over near a group of trees that didn't have dens near them, with painstaking care Whisper nosed around each tree. In the summer trees were the best because they provided shade, and in the winter they warded off snow. She finally ended up picking an older pine, the scent was rich. Whisper paused and marked it as her own. Then she scented the air, where had Azreal and Bain gotten to? Whisper walked over to the alpha with a more relaxed gait. This time she didn't hesitate before she spoke, even though her voice portrayed little emotion and her face even less "Do you want to go find the rest of the pack?" Then flicked her ears, she had a lot of things to consider, and a lot of things to ponder. She both dreaded and hoped for a meeting with Azreal, he was always interesting; and just being around him made Whisper feel something, something other than nervousness. Kipxin watched as Wbbisper scouted around for a spot to den down. She smiled as she found a place beneath the pines at the edge of the clearing, and for reasons Kip didn't understand, knowing whisper was out here to keep watch over the pack gave her a sense of security.
When whisper rejoined her there was a new to tone to her voice as if, miraculously, Kipxin had established a foundation of a trusting friendship with the red wolf. In reply to Whisper's question, she nodded her head and with a flourish of her tail barked for Kole to join them.

Whisper's entire body relaxed as she followed Kipxin, she knew that she wouldn't let her alpha get hurt, or anything threaten Mercy pack, it was just, an impression. Part of it scared her, but another part of it made her fill with a sense of, contentedness. Being with Kipxin and the pack, it made her feel that she was accepted, that she didn't have to prove herself, or constantly be on edge, it was like, it was almost like she could be herself, which was odd because herself didn't feel secure around other wolves. Whisper paused and glanced at Kole he had been silent, but they hadn't really tried to include him in the conversation. Whisper paused wondering if she should say something, she chose not to. For some reason she wanted to see Azreal, she wasn't even sure if she liked him, at least not in that way, but it was as if she just wanted to be with him. To bicker with him, or talk to him, or maybe even laugh with him is she had enough courage to do that. It was a simple want, but she pushed it aside, as she reminded herself that her first impression hadn't exactly been a friendly one or a good one for that matter. Whisper sent a wistful glance at the forest, maybe, maybe in the future, here she was home, here she would stay, and at the end, maybe her future would be with Azreal, but maybe not. Kole knew that he had done something wrong as soon as he saw the others reaction. His ears dropped to pin against his head as his tail threatened to drop between his legs. His eyes moved from Whisper to Kipxin in an embarrassed and confused way. He crouched down to allow room to crawl forward out of the small den and rejoin the others. He stepped slowly with his nose pointed down, trying not to pull much attention to himself. He approached the alpha slowly locking eyes with her. He flashed an embarrassed smile, not exactly sure what to do with himself after the recent happenings. He wasn't so good with interacting with other wolves and making a fool of himself sure didn't help his confidence much. It pained him to think that Whisper probably thought he was a fool. He wanted to be reliable, trustworthy, a good member of the pack. He would be surprised if she saw him that way.

Whisper ended her locked gaze at the forest as she noticed that Kole had extracted himself from the den. He looked nervous, and slightly embarrassed by his words, she saw the slight submission features in his actions but chose not to capitalize on them, knowing that it would not end well for her if she did so, her face was calm and placid as she turned her attention to him but could tell that all of his was on Kipxin. Whisper tried and succeeded, not to smirk, Kole was acting like Kipxin was the center of his universe, which she probably was and it was like watching a funny scene play out, each unwilling to be outright about their feelings. He flashed the alpha a quick smile, she couldn't tell whether he was using it as humor or apologetic, neither seemed quiet on target. Whisper paused as he seemed to go into a more contemplative state, wondering if he was thinking of Kipxin or her, maybe other wolves as well, but despite her curiosity Whisper didn't ask, the answer was almost nothing to her. It didn't matter because it wouldn't change what she thought of him, she hadn't figured him out...yet.... With most wolves it was simple, you could categorize them as aggressive or friendly, dominant or submissive, cunning or honorable, and then there were certain personality traits you could look for, but most were the same, but she couldn't place Kole, he displayed a certain need for respect yet he also knew when to be submissive, it puzzled her. Kipxin seemed to be a decent wolf, she was friendly but slightly dominant and even though she had brains obviously didn't turn them to dishonorable purposes. She thought she had the others marked as well; Bain was honorable and prideful as well but he could be friendly and respectful. Whisper turned to Kole wondering how much of the conversation he had heard, she didn't know so she briefed him anyway "I think we were going to go look for Azreal and Bain." Whisper turned to Kipxin, that was still the plan wasn't it? Whisper gazed off into the forest for an instant wondering where the rest of the pack was before turning her attention back onto Kole and Kipxin. Kipxin's eyes were firmly set on the forest before her. Her territory's vast expanse of trees and woodland that seemed endless - infinite. She kneaded her claws into the ground, feeling the Earth pulsing around her. She tried to listen, to maybe hear the voices or paw-falls of the others in the forest beyond. It's been some time since the whole pack made an appearance.
In the alpha's temporary trance, she almost didn't notice Kole's eyes on her until they practically pulled her attention to them. Those green eyes. She watched him approach, somewhat submissively, almost shamed from the confusion that had occurred moments ago. Inside, the alpha smiled, but she suppressed it to seem dominant and in control of the situation.
As Kole reached her, she dropped her dominant stance and slid her head beneath his, nuzzling him. She couldn't be angry with him, not with those eyes - that face. If she was a cat, she would've been purring with content; Kole was warm, and in this cold weather, Kipxin relished in their closeness.
The alpha watched as Whisper analyzed what was going on between them. Beneath her fur, she felt her face warm with embarrassment, but at the same time, this display of affection gave her pride. There was finally someone who cared about her; she didn't know how to handle it, but all she knew was that when she was with him, she felt right.
After hearing Whisper's words, she nodded. It was time to go find the others.

Whisper's attention was on the forest around her, its life beating out a rhythm in her heart, it was the song that wolves sang, and it was always different...every single time. It could tell one many things if you took the time to listen, the song was little more than a whisper, and when you listened you naturally understood although if you tried to work it out you could spend hours trying to decipher the impossible complexity of the codes. It was almost like watching wolves, each gave off subtle signs, waves of anger, flows of contentedness, and many other emotions poured off them, all there if you took a moment to step back and watch. Whisper paused as Kipxin snuggled with Kole, it was obvious that it was a moment of time when everything else seemed to become an oblivion. Whisper almost looked away, even as the movement sent a pang of longing withing her, coming from somewhere she hadn't even know exited inside herself. Kipxin tensed as she seemed to sense her watching them, she wasn't judging she was collecting date, she would judge later, although to Whisper it seemed that Kole might be moving into Kipxin's den soon. Kipxin seemed to realize that Whisper didn't care, even though she understood so little of love she did understand that it happened. And Whisper could see it here, even though they might be blatantly unaware of their feelings it was in every stare that softened, every movement, and most of all in their eyes when for an instant in time they locked gazes. Whisper waited for a moment longer before her question was answered, they were going to go look for Azreal, Bain and the rest of the pack. Whisper's paws itched to move as she sent wistful glances into the forest, it was a labyrinth that she already loved, it held a sense of balance and peace, the still before the storm, whenever that might happen. For her Whisper paused it might happen soon. Wolves addressed: none Wolves mentioned: Azreal, Bain, Kipxin, Kole, Pack Thoughts: now Whisper wants a romance

Kole's eyes widened when the alpha dipped her head beneath his, flattening her ears against the thick fur on his neck. He soon closed his eyes, resting his chin on her neck. He could smell the sweet scent of pine on her coat. Time slowed down while his heart raced. For once in a long time he felt content. The moment could of lasted forever, yet soon she pulled away. Kole stood their for a few seconds trying to gather himself. He wished that he could say what he felt, but no words could really explain the feelings he had. He noticed the look whisper gave them, and felt his cheeks warming up. Kole could tell that she saw something but to be truthful the black wolf knew nothing. He had no idea what was happening between the alpha and himself. Kole needed time. He needed to be with her. He needed to be able to express the words that stood just under the surface, yet he knew not how.

A cold gust of wind hit the alpha and caused her to shiver. The lack of Kole's heat made her entire body quake and wish to curl up with him. There was no doubt about it, she liked him, and her head spun at the thought of it.
Did I really just think that?
The whole affair baffled the young alpha. Never in her life did she imagine herself having feelings like this towards another wolf, and it frightened her. Trying to think through her emotions, her heart beat a mile a minute in her chest, hitting hard against her ribs that she swore Whisper would be able to hear it. She tried to imagine life without Kole's affection and her heart panged painfully. That wasn't it. She most definitely needed him in her life, but was she ready to admit these emotions to him?
Adrenaline coursed through her veins and she was frozen. She could still smell his intoxicating scent on her own fur and she closed her eyes. She definitely wanted him.
On a whim, a stupid, strange impulse took over her muscular system as, without thinking, the alpha raced back to Kole. Before she realized or had any control over what she was doing, she found herself licking Kole's face.

Kole stood frozen in surprise as the alpha bounded up to him. He took a quick step back, but was shocked when her tongue lashed out, roughly pulling through the short fur on his muzzle and chin. His legs grew wobbly and he used all his strength to stay upright. His eyes were firmly shut as she attacked him with her affection. Kole's heart threatened to leap from his very chest, hammering against his ribs almost painfully. He grew lost in the feeling, and worry disappeared. He licked her in return, tasting the sweetness that her fur held. He couldn't feel anything anymore. Not the ground beneath his feet, not the cold in the air, not the pain or distress at his lack of remembrance, only the pounding in his chest and the sweet smell and taste of Kipxin remained. He pushed his head under her chin, nuzzling against her. The warmth that radiated off her could melt away a thousand winters, and the feeling this sent through Kole couldn't be described. Just like his feelings for her. This right now was the only thing that could explain them.

Whisper watched with her usual stony gaze as Kipxin pulled away and and Kole snuggle closely up against her. She watched, collecting data, as the two wolves interacted, a minute ago was so different from now. Whisper paused wondering when they were going to say that they were mates, to the entire pack, it was a hard thing for either to do, because whisper paused examining Kole and Kipxin, they both seemed fairly young, well at least as young as her. She paused wondering if she would find a mate here, it was a natural thing to do, she planned to stay here, but not everything always went as planned. She mused for a second what it would be like to have a mate, to have someone who truly loved being with her, who supported her, and to do that for someone, to completely open up to them. Whisper shook her head, she could never do that, maybe. She looked on as Kipxin gallivanted back towards Kole and licked his face, and Kole pushed his nose firmly into her chest snuggling near her, they both seemed to be experiencing an unworldly place, they didn't withdraw, simply breathing in each other's scent. Whisper tore her gaze away, as something began to tear at her insides, it wasn't jealously but a longing, it wasn't explainable, but all the sudden it was on her again, the need for some other wolf. She turned pointedly, trying not to appear rude and stalked into the forest with the little grace she had left, maybe she would run into Azreal and Bain. Whisper glanced back wondering if Kole or Kipxin would follow or if they would spend some time alone with each other, if they did then she would follow but if they followed her then she would wait for them. Whisper scented the air trying to catch a drift of scent for Azreal or Bain, she didn't smell anything so followed her paw steps back toward the kill site, enjoying the frosty air cooling her to the bone.
