Post Feeling his body finally come back in tack from the sudden bad move he made at charging her; he was able to once more relax and calm himself slightly. Letting the cold crisp air flow through his nostrils, he allowed a soothing breath of air escape him his panting lips. Flicking his ears, he loses some small specks of frost that somewhat clung to his fur. Looking at whisper, he felt himself Trimble slightly.. He wasnt sure what it was that got into him to make him do Th either. Was it fear that maybe she knew more than what he gave her credit for? Shaking his head, he thought of her as a quick learner.. but not that quick. Grinning he saw a sudden change in her stance.. Shaking. Was she unsure with what she was doing? Listening to her words, he could tell she thought them out quite carefully before she let them slip from her lips. He almost bubbled with laughter inside. Never had anyone said something like that to him.. at least he couldn't really remember a time something of that nature was even throught out into existence. Soon, Rhythms muscles tensed as he saw the she wolf blaze toward him; she was alert, and calculated her steps carefully making Rhythm back his head up in confusion. She didnt show too Mugh aggression as she charged, but she did have a passion in her eyes to win this fight. Smirking big he got into a low stance, lowering his ears. Giving a low playful growl, the small whites of his eyes showed and his heart began to speed up it once slowed rhythm to the pounding sounds of drums in his ears. As she aimed low, Rhythm only had a few options. Try and dodge, Retreat backwards, or.. let her collide into him. though the other two seemed a bit cowardly on his part, he decided to go with seeing how strong she really was in trying to take him down.
Feeling her collide into him he whined; collide on collide on his bones, and it left him almost falling down, but somehow he managed to keep himself from giving in so easily. Using the power of her knocking him backwards, he rise on his hind legs with all the strength he could achieve in his muscles and let's his weight do the rest to bring him back down to his paws. Dashing to the side slightly, his tail skimmed her side pelt softly before he slide to a stop on the wet grass Before taking his turn." Ha, we'll see what's good enough, and what's not." Grinning like mad, he charges forward with a slight spring in his step; Feeling the air swirl in his eyes, he let his mouth hang open while his tongue fly out in a playful way before using his head to Act as a bulldozer to knock her over. He hoped if this hit got her, he would have a big advantage of winning this fair and square.

Not good enough she thought, slightly regretful. She collided with him, but he was heavier than her, her vision turned darker, and her usually very sharp senses weakened as she felt the collision rattle her bones. She wasn't even sure if that was possible, but if it was here it was happening. Her teeth made an uncomfortable grating sound that seemed to make the pounding in her head worse. As he sprung away she fell on the ground, and after feeling her feet move out from under her she was fairly sure she was going to lose the fight. Her thoughts swirled like the heaving breaths she took once they were exhaled out into the atmosphere. Her vision returned, and she was about to put her weight back under her paws to dodge when the gigantic oaf almost landed on her. She growled slightly, but his weight never fell on her, and instead his tail trailed across her pelt, almost teasing her. Taunting her, at this her eyes narrowed. Frowning, she was about to stand, her vision slightly blurry. At least she was seeing everything in doubles. She registered his words, and almost growled out a reply, he was stealing her words. Well not exactly, but before she could think up the necessary response he came careening towards her. He was fast enough that she couldn't track his movements, only a burning nee to; get away. The shifting of her weight into her hindquarters was late, and his fur was all but brushing against hers, the electricity she felt shooting its way up, it was hard to tell if it was from the oncoming pain, or from something different she wasn't exactly sure at that moment what she wanted to be. Not that she was in a position to think as she sprung away. Suddenly though she felt as if someone had thrown a rock at her.
Now Whisper had little to no experience with man. Of course throughout her travels she had heard of the fearsome beasts, but she had not come into contact with any such entities recently. But even so, if she did have any thought as to the power of man compared to the power of her in the world she would understand that the pain she felt in her hindquarter as the mass of black fur barreled into her was about the same sensation as being hit with a bullet. And even though it was only her hindquarters that had contact she soon felt her slightly airborne body colliding with the ground. The world's perception of time seemed to wax and wane, and right now everything seemed to be at normal speed as she was at the ground, and for the next second her muscles didn't respond, couldn't. She tried to a remember a time when her body had failed her, but the moment seemed elusive and hard to recall. There had of course been times when she had reacted instinctively, but she couldn't remember had chosen to forget (if such a thing was possible) a moment when her limbs and paws, and tail had not reacted when she wanted to. Her mind wasn't in shock, but for the next few seconds she had the vulnerability of a sitting duck.wolves mentioned:Rhythm |wolves addressed:Rhythm |

Kipxin buried the claws of her front paws into the rich dirt before her, kneading it as she arched her spine into a deep stretch - her bulging belly grazing the tightly packed soil beneath her. A yawn immediately followed, forcing her dewy blue eyes closed and sending shivers to permeate through lazy bones and muscles. Sore, drowsy, and momentarily disoriented, the alphess proclaimed to herself that it was time to get up.
Kipxin dragged her over-tired, over-stretched form from her den and into the intrusive sunlight. The light ravaged her pupils, dilating them to pinpoints and forcing the alpha to submit, for just a moment, to its blinding rays. Regaining her bearings, Kipxin surveyed the area.
She breathed deeply, using all her strength to keep her mind calm. Spring was here, and Kipxin, very tired and very, very sore, looked for her pack-mates. The winter was certainly a difficult one, but the budding of trees and the sprouts that tickled the pads of her paws almost made her forget.
Almost.
Kipxin could smell Whisper - a comforting sweet scent of family. She could hear the tumble-crash of wolves playing and a smile threatened her muzzle. Sniffing the air for the scent of others, she caught the scent of one wolf in particular which made her heart skip and the pups within her stretch to attention. Kole. The kick of the little ones was almost as painful as the memory of winter and the mate she loved...
and the mate she lost.
Kipxin shut her eyes tightly, suppressing the urge to cry out. It pained Kipxin to know that her pups would be brought up without their father, and she dearly wished him to be present for their birth.
The alphess, having been in labor for a few hours now, succumbed to the pain and laid down in the grassy clearing. She whined for her pack-mates. She knew that soon it would be time for her to climb into the birthing chamber dug out for her by her mate.
Instinctively, Kipxin knew not to fear; in fact, she was excited. These pups were a product of the love she shared with Kole and she could not wait to witness, care for, and raise what they have created. But for now, she wanted to alert the others of the puppies that were inevitably on their way.
Panting, her flank radiating pain throughout her lower regions, she waits for the others.

She felt...startled. But suddenly a scent had her plummeting even deeper into a space that she had not occupied for a very long time. Her mind swirled, she was almost always alert. Aware of her surroundings, and she felt her spine stiffen slightly; not in fear. Her entire being was honed in not by the male who was most likely going to beat her, no that was a far away place in her mind. She thought she had forgotten, but this was a memory she didn't want to forget. Kipxin.
The alpha female had been absent from her life, she assumed that there was no pack here on Mercy territory anymore. That it had faded away, and she and the few memories she had of it had faded away, but yet here was this scent, present. Kipxin. The name resonated in brain as she tried to make sense of it. After so long, questions popped into her mind as was her nature. She stared at seemingly nothing. What should she do. Was Kipxin still the alpha of these parts, the way those two wolves earlier spoke; she didn't remember Mercy being like that.
She had always remembered Mercy wolves to be so friendly, to be so open, and the memory of Kole instantly surfaced. Kipxin and Kole, and yet she didn't scent the Beta male, or Alpha Male now she thought a little slyly. If winter had occurred, maybe that was why Kipxin had been absent for so long. But where was Kole.... Kole, Azreal, Lynn, Bain, Beast, Rouge... where were they? And what of the others, she had been sure that Mercy had more, but as she scented the air only the scent of Kipxin tinged on the edges of her senses.
There was another scent there with Kipxin, another strange aura, another change. It was a little bittersweet. She was still in shock, not knowing exactly what to do. And what of Rhythm? She had a pack now. Even if it was only Kipxin, her alpha female, she was still part of that pack, did Rhythm want to be part of that pack? And would Kipxin welcome him? She paused, Mercy pack, she missed it. How she used to be able to feel.
It made her feel old honestly she thought, to have those memories as if they happened forever ago, and yet she knew it could not have been that great a time. Sighing she realized that lack of control, but she had already made this decision. No careful calculation, she was still part of this pack, whichever pack Kipxin was in. Because...because....she had had a father, a mother, siblings, a friend, and looking at Rhythm, she had had many things, but Kipxin was a leader. And for however much she hated how that made her feel, the willingness to do; to act; she had to admit there was something to respect about the she wolf. And if Kole wasn't there, she wondered what was happening. Looking at Rhythm she didn't know what to say so she said "There's another wolf here." And then looking toward where Kipxin was "She's the alpha here." She didn't know what else to say, her words felt...off and awkward. But that was the truth of it.
The truth she thought, how odd. That was the thing she usually avoided, and yet when pressed hard for words it was in turn what she went towards to say. she'd have to fix that. Not that she planned on using it, but it was rather irritating not to have any choice in the matter; to lie or tell the truth. Yes rather pointless a choice if it wasn't any choice at all. wolves mentioned:Kipxin, Kole, Azreal, Bain, Rouge, Lynn, Beast, Rhythm |wolves addressed:Rhythm |ooc:I wasn't sure what the reset was so I'm trying to clarify what happened to Whisper that made her think that she didn't have a pack Glad to see you back in the rp! | [/div]

During the time Kipxin had now to wait for others, she reminisced - though it was painful to do so - on the winter that she had somehow escaped.
Kipxin looked fondly on the very beginning of that season. The frost had brought her family together closer than ever. Azreal and Whisper, Kip and Kole: they each found warmth in the hearts of each other.
There was excitement with the first blizzard - the blizzard that doubly created and destroyed Kipxin's life. The scent of Kole overwhelming her senses, his breath on the scruff of her neck as they lay curled up together, their heartbeats, the intensity of the love they shared had created heat within their small den. The roof of their dug-out home heavy with dense snow, sent cool melted water trickling down through the opening of their den, which they happily lapped up to prevent dehydration.
Not long into the storm, Kipxin, due to the swelling of her belly and the discomfort in her abdomen, discovered she was pregnant. Kole knew before she - he could smell the difference in her familiar scent. The new mates were thrilled and awaited for the storm to pass to alert the others of the news.
But the storm did not end, and Kole never got the chance to tell the others. At least to Kipxin the storm seemed to last forever, and the time that she waited for Kole to return with food for her and the precious puppies she was now carrying in her abdomen, seemed to stretch for an eternity.
The cold crept into her den in Kole's absence. She waited days for the storm to pass, the now swollen alpha female stricken with hunger and fear for her mate, though she knew - she just knew - that he was gone.
The storm did finally end, the beauty of the untouched blanket of sparkling white contrasted harshly with the darkness Kipxin was facing.
Paws sinking into snow banks and belly brushing against the powder, Kipxin howled louder than the wind that had echoed low in her territory valley. There was a chill on Kipxin's spine that wasn't from the cold - it was from the hollowness of the valley that once was home to so many of her family members.
She had received no answer, so Kipxin had gone searching for them.
Kipxin was snapped back to the present by the rustling of the new green leaves above her in a light spring breeze. The very few patches of the formerly infinite blanket of snow flickered dimly in the soft light.
Kipxin let out a sigh. She had made her way back home. She had so many questions for Whisper about the winter - how she survived, where she went, and most importantly: if she had seen her mate, her Kole.
There were so many questions that needed answers, but she had basically abandoned her pack - though unknowingly. The snow had washed away most of her territorial scent, which worried her, but it was still present, which meant no wolves would come cultivate this area - yet.
Kipxin breathed in once more, the thrill of smelling Whisper was comforting, but now the smell of others was accompanied by worry. Would the others accept her as their alpha? They needed to, they lived in her territory. She just hoped she could retain her position until the pups were born.
if she was required to fight for her position, she would; but for now, the well-being of her pups, the only pieces of Kole that she had within her, were in her best interest.

Whisper Whisper walked away, it had been so much time since she had last seen her alpha, and she had walked away from Rhythm. Not because she disliked him, but because she had this scent in her brain. She looked back a little, but decided that Kipxin would need her. There was so much that had happened, she frowned. So much had happened to her, and yet the absence of the rest of the story not only left a bitter taste in her mouth, but also piqued her curiosity. She hadn't found her den, but she had wandered away from the storm as if there could be an escape.
Pausing she tried to remember. Everything had been so white, it had been strange; something like that looking so white and perfect. And yet she remembered hating it. Hating it, but she had eaten recently enough to wait the week for the storm to die down. She had been lucky, and she had remembered her frustrations as well. Funny that for as apathetic as she prided herself on being it was the emotions that stuck with her. The frustration at being dependent upon luck for her survival. She had continued to wander, but staid around Mercy territory.
She didn't now why she did, but rationalized it well enough. The game was plentiful, and she was loath to travel in the winter. And seeing as...seeing as Azreal had not returned she had not desired to seek out a mate elsewhere. The thought was merely an observance in the fall, the winter had staid where it was for awhile. She wasn't scared of the storm, not like her other fears. In retrospect it had seemed peaceful, and by that time if there was any ache at all it was familiar. But then she had come across new wolves in the territory, it had stirred up anger, and then she had found these loners.
She was a loner too at that point, and starting up a new pack. She had felt unsure without Kipxin there, but now it seemed as if the alpha had returned. Well she wondered if Kipxin had ever left, but the thought was distant on the horizon. And now it was spring. It was beautiful. Whisper sighed, inhaling again the scent of Kipxin, she could tell that she was close. She didn't even know what she was searching for. Kipxin herself? It was true that she to some degree respected her alpha, but she didn't think that that was right. Still she found her paws not resisting pushing her towards her destination. A destination she could speculate at. And a thought crossed her mind; what if she was scenting her alpha, but didn't find her alive. It was a solution that she dismissed the scent wasn't like that.
Still it was scary enough to shake her if only slightly. This pack, these new wolves, and herself. She didn't know if everything would fit into place, the way nature usually did. Death and life, killing and killed, and the four seasons. Or if it would topple into chaos like the storm itself. But despite that, being in a pack with Rhythm, and possibly the others who she had seen. They were irritating, but if it was Mercy pack...if it was her pack...then it may just be tolerable. She might be able to do this.
She had no intention of coming out of her shell, however, she could see the glimmer of what was. The loyalty she had felt for one of the first times in her life, it was scary and tantalizing. But the other emotions were tantalizing too. Maybe it wasn't about faces, it was about time. And to those who would be able to look at her from start to finish they would see a glimmer of the old Whisper coming out.
Her mind raced as she dipped her head slightly parting the growing grasses as she laid eyes on tones of grey and blue eyes. The female had never felt entirely comfortable addressing the other with anything except alpha or Kipxin, and yet she breathed out the word. Her usual eloquence failing her as she wondered at what she saw "Kip" and she didn't even finish her statement. As she noticed the other wolf's belly, and the scent that told her everything she opened her eyes, her face otherwise expressionless. Pups.

It wasn't long before the alpha could hear the sounds of padding coming towards her in the foliage that had been flattened by the immense weight of snow from the winter before.
She could smell Whisper on the breeze: a dainty scent that resonated as home. Staring attentively in the direction she believed Whisper to be coming from, she tried to stifle her excitement.
It wasn't long before she caught sight of Whisper's slender form in the budding spring brush, and a wave excitement, as well as kicks from the puppies, overwhelmed her. Whisper, seemingly gasping, said her name aloud.
"Kip"
She yipped exstatically in response and wished she could sprint to Whisper, nuzzle her, and tackle her to the ground with licks; Whisper was all she had left of what was once known as "home".
Just as this desire crossed her mind, a pain radiated aggressively across her flank. Her excited yip was followed immediately by a whine and gasp of pain. Panting, Kipxin looked desperately towards Whisper. She knew that if Whisper hadn't smelled it before, she now inevitably knew that the alpha was hugely and threateningly pregnant.
Struggling to her feet, the Alpha looked towards Whisper.
"The puppies", she gasped, "they're coming; want to help?"
It was an offer unheard of in her previous pack. An under-ranked wolf assisting in the birth of Alphas? Never. Usually the father of the puppies would accompany the expectant mother, however, Kip's puppies no longer had a father, and Whisper was the only family she had left - the only wolf left in the world that she trusted.
Their reunion being cut short, Kipxin almost apologetically began to delicately make her way to the birthing chamber only a few feet from where she way laying. Her belly swayed, over-full with the weight of to-term pups. Lactation glands standing at attention, flank radiating a pain of huge contractions, it took dedication and strength to be on all fours when she much rather wished she was laying down.
She was ready to deliver these pups.

Whisper
The female wolf stood there almost awkwardly as she felt...wanted. She felt as if whatever she missed, whatever she had lost in her friend had been somehow given back to her in an instant. Something stronger than belong, something that would never completely fade. She had been driven from a place, and a wolf could be killed, and yet pack. Packs didn't die. Packs left, and moved, and their members lived and died, but that was what she felt here. Strangely enough with only one wolf. Suddenly she felt the direness of the situation. She had thought the pups would wait another few days, but from the strong pains wracking through her alpha's body she could tell the time would be much sooner. Much much sooner. Keeping her face expressionless it may not have showed that she even cared that the wolf before her was in such agony, but as she entirely disregarded rank, and propriety, something she would have never done. A break in character for her she supported her alpha, beginning to direct her superior towards the den. The pups would be, well they would be a part of Mercy Pack.
And she remembered worry for Azreal, and worry for Kipxin, and now worry for Rhythm, if he would join too. These pups would be born in a den, and they would be taken well care of even if she couldn't hunt to save her own life. She could track, and if she had to go hungry she knew that she could last longer than a hungry mother and however many pups....were born, somehow the harsh reality that some of them would die was not something she wanted to consider. So as she let her alpha lean on her, she wasn't strong, Kole should have been there. Black against the many shades of grey, a steady shadow; always supporting and much less flimsy that an absence of light. Whisper however realized that was a story for another time. And as Kipxin's sides heaved she wanted her alpha in before the actual birth happened, or any fluids began to appear.
Logistically it wouldn't work, one wolf feeding anywhere from 5-8 others including herself. She wondered at it, and yet for the first time it wasn't the thought of her survival that ran prevalent in her mind. Her thought wasn't that she would survive; it was that they would survive. And like any living creature she feared the death that might come, but like any wolf she knew it was inevitable. However now was a time of life as she resolved to get Kipxin into the den and have all the pups living before any deaths could happen. And if anyone was going to die, she knew that it would probably be her. Sighing she wondered how she had come to be so irrational about this. Maybe it wear off. It scared her, and she shied away from it even as she was ready to accept Kipxin's full weight on her shoulder to support the wolf to the den.

Nanakin grinned at Echo. It seemed as if he was doing this much more often, and he didn't take the time to think about if it was the wolf herself or just the fact that it had been so long since the male had spent in the company of another wolf. But he wouldn't have given it much thought even if he would have; Echo was happy and made him smile. And it should be supposed that that was all he could ever comprehend upon the matter if you pressed him for it.
The clumsy male thought found another thing to smile about soon enough. There was another wolf somewhere. He grinned at the thought of more company. Zeus and Zarya were fine company, but he could feel the tension thick in the air, nothing like how he felt when he was with only Echo. He just hoped it wasn't that other unpleasant wolf. Or more like wolfs he had left. He had not come across them in some time now and he liked it that way.
He wasn't particularly wise on such matters but even he could comprehend when something got on his nerves and this just happened to be one of those times when he met a wolf and for some reason disliked them. Maybe he was simply not smart enough to figure out why. And he was happy to trust his intuition on the matter if that was the case.
But still more wolves, the male grinned, and thought about approaching, and wondered if Echo would be happy to do it. It seemed like something the exuberant female would love to do. He wasn't sure what his plan was though if she said no. He guessed he would wait for a little longer. doing something he rarely did before acting; thinking. With Whisper by her side, the alpha made her way, slowly, to the den in which she would give birth to her beloved pups.
It quickly became evident to the alpha that Whisper was lost in thought. Her eyes would dart periodically, almost expectantly, along the edges of the clearing. She seemed to be looking for someone - after all, Kipxin had laid a huge responsibility on an under-ranked wolf. It wasn't that she didn't trust Whisper - she did whole-heartedly; she just took this timidity as slightly insulting. Maybe, the alpha supposed, it was because - as much as she had wanted to - Kipxin hadn't created as strong of a bond with the wolf as she had wanted to. She loved her family dearly, and it was disheartening that in her absolute rare time of need, the small wolf was looking elsewhere, looking to pawn her off to a stranger.
Or maybe not.
It is the mate's job to take care of the mother as she gives birth. A thought crossed Kipxin's mind that hadn't just a moment ago. Maybe she was looking for Kole.
As she thought his name, another pain went shooting up her flank and down her spine. The alpha cringed, but was close enough now to the den that she could position her paws on the edge and look into its dark depths.
It smelled like home - it smelled of her mate.
Digging her claws into the soft earth of the mouth of the den, she sent an avalanche of tiny pebbles into its depths. Nudging Whisper lightly and encouragingly, the alpha allowed herself to part walk part slide into the den.
The darkness was immediate and enveloped her with a comforting embrace of earthy and Kole-like scents. The alpha laid herself gently on the packed-soil and positioned herself.
Letting out a soft whine, she waited for her pack-mate to come down with her. After all, there was plenty of space. Kole had dug it intending to hold the both of them, and Kole was much, much larger than the little female standing at the mouth of the den.
As she waited, another sensation washed over her. Instinctually the alpha pushed, ever so slightly, and a warmth engulfed her back legs.
The puppies were coming.
They were coming now.

Once in the den Whisper felt the uncomfortable heat weighting down upon her from the enclosed space. It was obvious the builder had been a wolf with powerful shoulders, and a powerful mind to have the persistence to build something of this size; however that didn't help her much when it was an enclosed space, and she had very little idea what to do for her alpha. Still looking at Kipxin she realized the female wanted her help, although the word felt almost like a more pressing need. Focusing on her alpha she laid down next to her, carefully putting the barest of pressure against her alpha, while she noticed. Kipxin was almost ready. In fact Whisper thought carefully as she noticed the contraction and Kipxin's push the first pup would be coming getting up slighty, and changing so she was laying next to Kipxin's back, facing her alpha's rear she asked carefully "Do you need anything?"
She knew that when the pups were all here the alpha might be hungry, defensive, thirsty, or all three. Pausing she tried to gauge how well Kipxin would handle this. The alpha was strong, but she presumed that this was the female's first litter, and she herself had never given birth or helped another wolf. Her own mother never had another litter. Strangely enough there had been another litter near her, but she had been too young to watch observe and learn from it, and she didn't know the wolves were even in existence until later. Quietly waiting for a moment she had no idea what to look for, but wondered if she should try to fill the silence.
It seemed an odd idea, the others always seemed to fill the silence, and she always seemed to be the more silent of whatever group she might be in at the time, so the idea of her filling the heavy air with words just for the sake of saying something; well it seemed rather absurd to the red wolf. Glancing at Kipxin she knew that it wasn't tactful right now to speak of Kole, even if the wolf had been the father. She could scent him all around and it made her a little nervous. Still she was staying here, and if asked why she didn't really know. Was this loyalty, or was this something completely different she felt towards her alpha?
Pausing she watched Kipxin closely, if the alpha was breathing too hard, if she was in too much pain, if she was scared. The thought was odd. Kipxin scared? Kipxin could be confused, and funny, and smart, and shrewd, and a leader; however she had never entertained the idea that Kipxin could be scared and the notion was immediately dismissed seeing as there were no signs of fear from the alpha. Still she felt protective. She might have to narrow the entrance so nothing big could come in.
Sighing softly, not in any particular emotion, simply to make way for speak Whisper began speaking. She didn't really know what to talk about so she talked about stories she used to be told, and what she remembered from being a puppy; well all the good memories anyway. "It wad just my mother, my father, Lelli, my siblings and I. And often enough the den was big enough for us all to cram together for a story. Even if we would much rather be exploring the outside. However we were too young for that" not that that had stopped all of them from daily escapades their mother had more trouble with that she cared to admit. "We were such a handful, and our father was almost out constantly to feed every single one of us." She had loved her father, and disliked her mother, but she hoped for different things for her alpha. Kipxin; she deserved that love, the love that only some could give. She paused then cautiously tied her alpha into her rambling "Do you have any idea what kind of pups you want, or what you want to name them?" She forgot how her mother told her she named her.
It didn't seem important how her name was after all. Not very many called her that during her early years and she could have changed it as time wore on, and yet here she was with the name that her mother gave her.

Filler Post; but if you take the time to read it it's going to be a (very) short wolfy story! The wolf pup hesitated, it's paw darting out to touch the substance. It wasn't foreign, the thick and solid looking object melded with his paw, and when he retracted it his paw felt different. Still it had no scent, and was rather worrying. He had of course felt something like it, and seeing as the stuff didn't seem to be hostile it was like the milk that came from his mother a time ago, except cool and tasteless. There was a faint taste to it, but not something the pup could detect. The pup flicked out another experimental paw as he tested the surface, but it wasn't solid, and didn't hold his weight. Every time he tried hitting it it accepted him instead of forcing his paw to bounce back. It was weird. The pup's paw yet again came back sopping wet, even though he didn't really understand. By this point his siblings had come to investigate his find, and he growled protectively. It was his. But there was more than enough to share, and suddenly his brothers and sister had left in search of their own spots. Experimentally tongues, noses, and paws touched the substance, creating ripples. Another peaceful afternoon of learning.

Post As the crisp wind grazed through Rhythms pelt, he felt as ting of pain run through his body; most of the pains residing in his chest making him feel uneasy, it made it seem that the air he once was able to breathe in so smoothly and calmly now retained as in rough gasps for air. Letting his ears fall backwards gently, he held grief in his stance rather than the proud stance that he would usually acquire. He didn’t mean to have been so rough.. Shaking his head he couldn’t collect his thoughts to even to attempt to open his maw to speak. Letting his tail sink down like a soggy mop he scolded himself. Did she think of him as a brute now? He wasn’t sure nor was he a mind reader either. Something had told him deep down inside he didn’t have to prove anything to her because she knew his strengths however he didn’t listen to this too well but let his instincts of him always wanting to be on top take over. Now, as the cold air swirl around him; he held a alone feeling, his ears retained a new position of its normal standing, but twitched slightly at each gust of wind that torn through his pelt. He looked at Whisper and he was sure he may of hurt the she-wolf worse than he wanted to or expected to. Was she okay? only time would tell but Rhythm seemed to be lost in space, his mind racing more than he could truly comprehend at the time. He wanted to shut all the pain that swirled up inside him, but there was no way he could let go and act like it didn't exist of what just happened.
A sharp yet faint pain stabbed in his head; run.. run away.. as much as his feet wanted to carry him off in flight, he stood there. Too many important figures had been in his life.. So many he'd ran away from but why? Did he even have the answer to such a question? Why was he running from something he didn't even know what it was? He couldn't leave, yet his mind screamed to run.. Flicking his tail slightly, his hetero color orbs soaked in exactly whisper and everything else seemed to blur away from his thoughts. He couldn't respond because he didn't know what to say so instead he just watched the she wolf. Dipping his head to the ground he walked up to her slightly before jumping back at her sudden movement. Was she just playing? Rhythm grew confused and backed off. He stared at her as if she had turned into a ghost still lost in thought before perking his ears attentively at what she had said. another wolf? He tilted his head slightly before rasing a eyebrow at her. He could smell it too, yet he wasn't too much concerned with the smell. Why was she? did she know this females scent.. It was possible. Before he had a chance to even speak or say something, Whisper had headed in the direction of where the scent was coming from. He couldn't really comprehend why she was making such a bold action to go to such a scent if she didn't completely know who, or if this wolf was a threat of not.
He sighed before hesitantly following the she wolf, where she went he wanted to be there to see what exactly it was she smelled. He wasn't sure, but if this was someone Whisper knew, maybe they had been kin? wolves of the same pack? Rhythm found his paws tangling up on a vine in the ground; it wrapped around his leg and he grew annoyed. Giving his hindlegs a good pull of force, the small vine broke in two with a loud satisfying snap before continuing on his way to see where whisper was going.

Whisper waited for Kipxin's answer. She wondered what kind of pups these would be, but it wasn't like it was up to her to decide. Each would be their own she was that sure, and she hoped that none of them were born weak, or unhealthy. She hoped all of them were born strong and good willed. She hoped none of them were born mangled or on the cusp of death. She hoped none of them were born runts. Sighing she looked at Kipxin, but no matter, she would be a good mother for this litter. It wouldn't matter, because Kipxin would be a mother, she was an amazing alpha. She just needed to help. She frowned internally never letting her placid features waver, not wanting to concern her alpha with anything but what would keep her in the right frame of mind. She knew little of hunting or fighting, her talents lay in tracking and exploring, and questioning.
Suddenly a scent hit her, and it made her ears prick and her entire body go on alert, not for wariness, he wouldn't. He was many things, he may be too smooth, too polished, and he sure as anything knew too much about her to be around her alpha, but...She looked at the light bordering the edges of the cage in a fuzzy sort of way. It almost made her nostalgic. She hoped he didn't think too much more poorly of her, but well; he already knew more of her than she cared to let on, she wasn't a very deep wolf after all, but he was a better wolf than most. And incidentally she thought wryly, he might be just what Kipxin needed. Someone strong to fight off attackers, and someone smart enough to hunt down larger game. She paused, hoping that Kipxin would accept the intruder, and almost had to shift uncomfortably.
The scent was closer now, and she knew that she hadn't bothered to hid her trail, still however much she dreaded him walking in on her and her alpha on a situation like this seeing as Kipxin would be more hostile with pups on the way, another part of her didn't want to delay his arrival a micro second. She liked solitude, and being able to make decisions. Not being judged or having to hide, but another part relished the challenge he presented. It took her a moment to understand, had she missed him? That wasn't really the word was it?
She debated with herself. Kipxin would smell him by now, so she should probably tell her. How should she introduce her...acquaintance, she didn't even know him that well. Worry seeped through her, what was she supposed to say or do. She couldn't very well deal with him and...well at least she wasn't the one delivering pups. The she wolf doubted that she would ever have pups. The idea was slightly averse to her seeing as she didn't have any partner that she could possibly be even remotely interested in, not him, not after Azreal. Azreal was gone, and he was here, and she could move on if she wanted to, but move on for him? She asked herself in slight incredulity. She didn't even know him. And also she would under no circumstances do well with pups.
She would cherish, protect, and care for her alpha's pups, but that didn't mean that she had to do well with them. They were other wolves after all, and she knew that her socialization could be a little lacking despite her ability to pretend that it wasn't. She really needed to sort out this mess, and explain. She couldn't really pretend that she didn't know him, as she needed him on her side, to join Kipxin and help her alpha get through this phase of taking care of the pups. Until more wolves joined, until others were able to help as well.
She paused contemplating her words. She should tell Kipxin first as her alpha deserved to know, and she wasn't going to leave the den to go great him. If he reached the entrance she would talk to him as she wasn't sure whether he should really be in the den for this, but she needed to tell Kipxin before the alpha reached the verdict that the intruder was hostile. Thinking some half way decent words that didn't really cover what she might be trying to say, but would have to suffice she said "I think the wolf coming towards the den is one I met. He is friendly, and would be a good addition to the pack." She waited. The question that was a statement hanging in the air. Would Kipxin welcome him?
If he met her alpha at the borders and she was in a more normal state then Whisper would have said with the faintest tinges of pride, and soft confidence that her alpha, was one of the few that would welcome him into their pack. And she might even give him a tour of the territory. Or Azreal would take him on a hunt, and show him the best hunting spots, or Kole would show him the border, or Witt would go show him where the herbs were. Still this was not those times, and it seemed as if everyone was gone, so now he would meet at the opening of the den, and she wasn't so sure. Her face remained expressionless, but this was Kipxin's decision, and Whisper would respect it no matter what.
She would follow orders because of Rank even if not loyalty. Still she was loyal enough to Kipxin to make it the latter. wolves mentioned: Azreal, Witt, Kole, Kipxin, Rhythm, Pups |wolves addressed: Kipxin |

Kipxin could feel Whisper's heat up close next to her. All around her was the scent of Kole; even pieces of his fur were scattered around the small area.
At least the pups would have this piece of their father; if they can not meet him, at least they will grow up for the first few weeks familiar with his scent.
Stabbing pain permeated through her bones, her muscles, and intrinsically blocked off all thought. Kipxin could hear Whisper speaking kind words, and she appreciated it, but she was incapable of focusing too much on what she had to say. She did, however, acknowledge her question about the pups.
What would she name them? She knew that she wanted pups like her mate: strong, healthy, full of life. She was excited... but right now she was focused on delivering them healthy and alive.
Alive.
The threat of losing her pups terrified the young alpha. It made her nervous, especially with the scent of some unknown wolf nearby (who Whisper reassured her was not a threat). Taking a deep breath, Kipxin tuned into the task at hand: delivering her pups.
Frustrated with the pain, Kipxin kicked into instinct-mode. Eyes dilated, heart pounding in her ears, fur standing on end, the alphess pushed. Abdomen contracting, there was some pain immediately followed by relief. Her eyes darted and made contact with Whisper, who seemed slightly uncomfortable at the moment, before averting her gaze to her flank.
In complete amazement, she saw the jet-black face of her first pup. Adrenaline and the urge to care for this pup took over her senses. She felt comfort in Whisper being in the den with her, but she didn't want her any closer to the pup. A new energy radiated from the alpha and it was intimidating. This was the feeling she had over her pack, but intensified ten-fold.
Another flash of pain that shocked her system and another contraction that obliterated the muscles in her abdomen, Kipxin delivered her first pup.
Folding to the ground gently, the pup was motionless. Still in labor but overwhelmed with love and instinct, Kipxin reached for her pup with her teeth. Gently rolling and tugging her pup towards her upper body, Kipxin's tongue lapped at the tiny body laying before her. She pulled at the gestational debris that blocked the pup's airways.
A small mew-ing sound emerged from the pup and a wave of excitement washed over the alpha again. She positioned the pup close to her stomach so the little one could nurse.
She looked towards Whisper, the alpha dewy-eyed, and allowed a huge grin to engulf her face. She was at a loss for words, and before she could focus on conversation, the alpha still had work to do.
She was still in labor.
