Rhythms tail lightly dappled between his legs as a undersized gust of wind rippled through his pelt smoothly; parting his fur like small waves of water as the inconsistent directions of the wind blow by. It was a heartening feeling, even though it was a nippy breeze he preferred a nice gentle breeze and a slight chilly day anytime, and anyday rather maybe other wolves enjoyed hot summer weather. His eyes strayed from Whisper, and for the very first time, he could acknowledge that he and her.. Time seemed to go slower, and he appreciated that, she had that certain personality to her that he admired.. Something other females couldn’t equate with him on that particular level. It was the main reason why he never found interest in trying to start a family, or even taking that small leap into caring about being loved, or having someone to love. Whisper was in her own rank, and a master of her field, rather he believed her not to care if she fitted in or not.. Though she did long to being accepted, cared for.. She seemed lonely to him, and even though the the illusion she put in front; a show she gave around others wasn’t truly who she really was.. Or even what she stood for. However he did wonder what event happened in her life to made her distance herself from others. Because certainly, no wolf or anyone in their right mind would push away Being around others-- To have that very connection to feel like they were something, that they mattered. And to be whoever their heart desired them to be. Whisper was just something he couldn’t piece together accordingly. And he felt, if he gawked too long at her -- as if trying to unlock something that would not simply be open with a flick of a tail, he would miss everything his efforts of trying to understand her to be. It was more complex than that; she was more complex than that then he could ever imagine. She had secrets, maybe if she felt she had told someone she truly cared about it may hurt them. Maybe she felt he wasn’t strong enough to handle the truth.
Flicking his ears, the fur on the back of his neck light perked up before he looked to the side gently grinning to himself. Maybe she just wasn’t sure what he would do If she told him the truth. But rather she knew it or not, he wouldn’t leave.. He wasn’t about to either. And this small little part of him started to tell her that because that’s what she believed he thought about. He knew she didn’t want to be hurt again, but he hoped he wouldn’t be the one to let her down.. Listening to her, his eyes lightly placed on her face, his grin turning into a small smile. But she soon walked off in front of him as she walked forward and his legs moved without him even know what he was doing at the point of time, he decided to stay a bit behind her as he studied her as she led the way. “Indeed it does.” He says gently before rolling his big broad shoulders. She was light on her paws, and he wondered how much practice it took her in order to master something like that. She almost seemed like a ghost passing by.. unseen, overlooked. Him on the other hand was loud, and not much thinking on the thought or silence. He was glad to be invited to hunting with her though, he could put maybe some of his energy building up in him on catching some prey with her.

Whisper tried to acknowledge his presence as scarcely as she could, she needed to be focused. She should not be thinking about him, all of her energy should be put towards keeping the pups alive. Maybe she was selfish to her core, and just cared about how it made her feel. Her feelings, she shoved the musing down answering the unsaid question with something she should have told herself; did not matter. Other wolves' feelings mattered, what they thought of her, and how that would affect their actions, but she could not really help but wonder at how much her feelings would play into a decision that she would have to make if he decided to leave; or Kipxin decided he could not stay. It was pointless musing, even as a Scout it was not her job to think, it was her job to gather information useful to the pack. She was supposed to not be seen, and be able to provide the truth, still she wondered how truthful she was to herself when she said she was not tempted to tell Rhythm about...well everything. She kept going, almost excited to show him Mercy, and how perfect it seemed to go. As she passed the trees she found nothing to fear, no scorch marks leaving dark mars on the bark. The dens were not closed, and she could sleep out under the stars, and feel needed. Still she did not need Kipxin to know this, or even Rhythm to know either. She was not afraid, but she knew that she had to be realistic, if she told them then that would change their opinion of her. Maybe being a liar who wore more faces than she could count was not worse than being who she truly was, because she was not sure. Still the company was welcome, no matter how much turmoil it might bring, and she knew that she had missed being part of a pack. In the beginning it was so tentative. She could not quiet figure him out either. She felt that she understood most of Kipxin, how she was selfless, and wanted what was best for her pack, and maybe even beyond, how she just wanted to create a place called Mercy. The forest floor was solid under her paws as she continued to keep her paws light upon it, almost feeling the vibrations as Rhythm's even gait beat itself into the ground. She scented the air, hopefully the herd would have been in the valley recently. She really needed some luck today, and tomorrow, and the day after. The foolishness of that hope pounded again into her mind. Her face was passive as she glanced at Rhythm, his coat protected him from the spastic gusts. Her coat had grown out a little for winter, but she was not built for this weather. She had no knowledge of different wolf species, but she was able to tell the different between Kipxin, Rhythm, and her. She stopped and considered her options, they could keep going together until they found a trail and hunt smaller game on the way and carry it to return den, and combining their efforts might yield enough small prey to satisfy Kipxin until they came upon larger game with a higher success rate, or they could keep going. She knew that he had to be decent at hunting to have survived, but he was less conspicuous than her, still she would need his strength if she were ever to bring down something bigger than a beaver. So stick together it was then, if she found something without him then she would be able to do nothing without him, as much as it painted her to depend upon anyone else, especially him when she already owed him an explanation, and some other things. Shrugging off the impending problem she said simply "Let's go find some tracks, and hopefully we'll find something, if not then we could probably hunt small game." Here it was awkward. She was caught between her normal action which would be to say nothing, and automatically assume that eh would follower her. Keeping up the persona of a rather arrogant, and confident wolf. But still she thought that he was offering to help, and that was a rarity in itself, and maybe she could say this without giving too much away, "uhmm. Thanks."The words were soft. Then she looked away, her face betrayed no emotion, except for her flickering eyes and the action of turning away. She rarely stuttered, or but um or said er. When dealing with overconfident leaders who wanted her off their lands those speech mannerisms were seen as a weakness and she quickly found ways to overcome her shyness. Maybe if this encounter was anything to go by she wasn't over being shy, and it like most other things was just a mask. It was irritating to think that she hadn't changed, because she felt as if she had changed so much, but her voice had been soft, and she had been hesitant. She had gone through so much since being that, and yet she was still the same, just a mask. Maybe it was a bad idea to try to get rid of who she was, and she could just keep on being whoever she wanted to. Still she had no intentions to completely show him the real her if that was what you would call it anytime soon so she shook herself out of her musings with a flicker of ears trying to pick up any signs of prey. The bird that she had heard, and seen fly away suddenly seemed less funny and more like a lost meal opportunity.

(Just a quick post to try and keep things going here.)
Listening to Whisper's words, she seemed to have everything set up in her mind perfectly of how she was going to go about it, whereas Rhythm really never came up with a plan of doing things; he just would rather just go with the flow of things. Flicking his tail in a small manner he figured Whisper had to know the land way better than he could have imagined when he had first met her. "Hm.. I'm guessing if we fail on the bigger game then we can switch to going to the small.. But since it's the two of us it may be a bit difficult to try and take big game down." He suggested letting his eyes roam around the land scope. Rethinking about his words, if it was him by himself he would have considered taking on the large game by himself, but having regards Whisper was here, he was a bit cautious about it all. Feeling his strides creep to a slow pace he felt himself being lost within thought, most of it had been a cause by the long day he was feeling dawn down on him. He let out a small sigh before licking his nose raising his nose to the sky slightly looking for scents. "Maybe small game will be better. It'll put us in less danger." He wasn't saying this for himself because he could care less, but it was Whisper he was looking out for.

She stared at him, the words seemed to roll of his tongue, and she narrowed her eyes. If he thought she was weak, some little female who needed protecting an unfamiliar well of anger opened up, the maw of a monster, ready to swallow her up. Pushing down the emotion she saw him assessing the landscape, and assessing her. She didn't try to make herself look bigger, she didn't need her size. She didn't need to be big, or have a thick coat, or be the best fighter, she just needed to win, and she had won. She knew that he himself wouldn't hesitate to take on big game, she was not that naive, but....she allowed herself to look at it from a different lens, perhaps he was just....looking out for her. While the thought still brought a ruffle of indignation it was considerably less likely to awaken her anger. Pausing she kept her paws gliding over, now they were going at an equally slow pace through the forest, unsure of where to go. A blip in her thoughts luck. Glancing over at him she knew that if it came down to it he would probably be the better hunter, and be doing the most of the actually fighting if it came to taking down big game, not wanting to place that burden on him conflicted with her pride for a moment, but the thought reoccured and she settled on it. So speaking a bit louder, she decided on the original plan "Let's go to the lower tiers of the mountains where we can get a good view of the valley area where there is forest, that way we will be able to best plan an attack. If we don't spot any big game then we'll head down into the forest, split up and then come back later with whatever we've caught." Her teeth gleamed, she did love to hunt, and it wasn't like she had never brought down big game either. While part of her itched to explore a different area the logical part of her knew that this was the best hunting area, even if her gut did twist at the thought of how she had learned of it.

As the wind blew past his ears whistling by with a rough, yet quiet lash, he saw her eyes dawn on him in a defensive way, almost angered by the way his words hit her. He could not hold her stare there for his eyes wondered elsewhere as her fiery glance seem to burn over him. So instead he let his eye soar over the landscape and how the trees swayed as the wind seemed to work together in sync creating a beautiful pattern of sounds. Feeling each of his paw-pads place upon the soft soggy patch of ground that of around the rim sparkled with a small sparkly substance. He was playing with some words at the tip of his tongue, yet his mouth failed to provide the small comment he wanted to say. Big game was risky, even for himself much less his judgement of Whisper's strength was faded into a blur. It was hard for him to exactly pin point thing's about her and he had no trouble doubting that she couldn't do it, but her determination seemed to rub off by her means of body language and words. Sensing the change in her tone, his maw slightly apart as he listened in to her words. He kept his gaze in front processing how she completely wanted to go about it. She didn't completely throw away his advice yet, she didn't follow though with it sound either. Though he held a lot of concern, her words gave him a slight inquisitive mindset of actually seeing her in battle. Giving a long thought, and carefully looking over his words mentally before he blabbed them out, his tail gently slid across her side. "Hmm.. Sounds good." Even though he wasn't completely with it, they boosted their chances in catching prey for Kixpin and themselves. Letting his lips curl over his black gums into a small smirk, he gently picked up his pace bouncing in front of Whisper slightly. "Lets not lag here. The slow pace walking is killing me." He chuckled in a low soft tone before changing his strides into a small gallop further in front seeing if she would join along until they met their destination at the mountain.

Feeling the weight of the dreary place, and indecision still coursing through her coming in little bursts as soon as she felt confident about how she had used her voice. The wind whipped again at her coat, and she was worried about going to a mountain which would be much more open than this wet and slightly snow covered terrain, but the frigid moist seeping its way through her paws made her hurry, and as soon as he agreed, and began to lope off at a faster pace she matched it, the beginning an explosion of speed to keep up. She really had no idea how she was going to explain this, and did not want to think about how awkward this was. She couldn't explain why she had stayed on Mercy territory even after her alpha had gone missing, and even if she had stayed on the territory she still considered herself a lone wolf. She had lost her pack, not that she had ever really formed a tight bond with very many wolves anyway, and then here was her alpha with pups. Glancing at Rhythm now beside her she allowed her lungs to accommodate the new greater desire for air. She was used to it, the way the freezing whoosh flew into her lungs and out again in seconds, the way her paws glided over the surface of the earth, and she soon found herself in a rare moment of peace. Away from her thoughts, and wondering on what to do. She could feel the thrum of her own gait pulse through her, steady and even, a characteristic trait of the wolf. She could feel Rhythm's as well, and wondered briefly how he had come upon that name, she knew that her name was only a reminder of what she hated, but still she kept it, not quiet knowing why, but she guessed that it wasn't really worth changing. If she ever desired she could lie to a wolf about what her name was if she chose not to reveal her real one. Thoughts returned to her, suddenly, the weight of the hunt, and how she should go about it. She wanted a position downwind so that whatever prey might be there would not scent them, but at the same time she wanted a place that would be advantageous to attack. She also had no idea what state the herd would be if she came across them, it was winter which meant easy pickings most of the time, and with Rhythm's brawn she didn't think it would be that much of a problem if there were no large problems with whatever game they came upon, and even if her pride told her to pick the biggest buck and have a good bashing with him she knew that that was a waste of energy and possible injury when that could be fatal to Kipxin, and the pups. And once they made the kill, her stomach twisted in another knot, wolves didn't really share a kill, and for Rhythm who had not been explicitly accepted into the pack to share a kill with her and her alpha...she really did owe him an explanation, the thought repeated itself. Still she did nothing, and her own cowardice towards the idea didn't sit well with her, but like always it only simmered beneath the surface as she ran, an even beat, pounding the earth. The ground gradually becoming more solid and the snow compacting to a harder surface; the mountains were near.

ooc: I think maybe we could find a herd, and they'll both scent it at about the same time, but Whisper is the one who is able to spot the weakest, how about an old doe, and then they take it down. What would you think of me putting in Nanakin, he's a brute and not too bright, but he might be extra muscle to take down the animal, but I'm also fine if this is a Whisper and Rhythm moment, because I'm not really sure what I plan on doing with Nani.

ooc: That's actually a good idea Whisper. Such cleverness. And yeah, you can add Him because in a realistic aspect even taking down a weak deer is pretty tough with three wolves, let alone we only have two present right now. Whisper and Rhythm. But I guess the idea is up to you since you have the second character.

Nanakin eventually went and searched for the other wolves who had wandered off, knowing that they were probably exchanging conversation he almost decided against this as he was not particularly interested in showing off his ineptitude at smooth speech which both wolves seemed talented at. Kicking up snow as he went his loud pawsteps made all mice skitter for safety and anything within hearing range to beware or to flee. Instead of following his nose he head south, but caught up their scent. He had forgotten where the pair were originally headed, but he wondered if they were still doing that thing where they were not really talking the truth, but not really talking lies, and nothing made sense. His stomach twisted to indicate his hunger, and he knew that the wolves were probably smart enough to figure out where game was. He was never really good at logic, or scheming, but he could bring down a big healthy buck on his own if he wasn't too weak. He missed Echo, he didn't feel stupid when she was around, not because she herself was stupid, but because she just didn't make him feel that way. Despite the wintery landscape the male wolf still managed to have clumps of dirt hanging around his pelt as he plod towards the two strangers he had forgotten their names, but they probably remembered his. They were smart like that, and they had probably heard him coming too. With heavy paws he was determined to look friendly and spoke up in a clear but unfortunately rather loud manner "Hi-" and then stopped mid sentence as he reconfigured his address "Hello!"

(Quick post) Turning, his ears radars' a familiar voice he swore he had heard before. Stopping in his tracks, the familiar white pelted wolf seemed to stumble his way over towards them which Rhythm in return back peddled slightly to see what was up. Where was Echo? Did she get hurt and Nanakin came to ask for their help? By the expression on the white wolf's face, Rhythm was pretty torn from if it was a emergency or not. Twitching his ears slight as the small vibration of the wolf beginning his greeting was quickly cut off as he started again. Giving a quick glance to Whisper, he to be honest didn't want the wolf to tag along with them, but he held his tongue back giving his tail a small wag trotting his was back. He gave a small smile. "Haha, hey Napkin." He was pretty sure his name kind of sounded the same, and he purposely said this. The intelligence's from the white wolf didn't seem to be too high so he probably did not mind anyway. Wolves mentioned: Echo, Nanakin, Whisper. Nanakin tilted his head confused, and it showed, the way he didn't stand very neatly or collected like the two wolves in front of him, and his eyes flickered with indecision. There were too many words thrown at him at once, it wasn't fair. His mind was even more boggled at the black wolf's (what was his name?) pronunciation of his name. That wasn't how his name was pronounced. Wait...was it? He did stumble over it a lot, and then the female spoke soon after before he could respond to the first and now he had to respond to both. She said his name right, but she had funny colored fur. Stumbling over his words he said "Uhmmmmmm, Hunting?" It was almost a question. His stomach was tying itself in knots, but he wasn't really sure that that was the answer that both were looking for. His paws shuffled nervously.

Whisper heard a something crashing through the forest from about a quarter of a mile away even with the dense vegetation which should have at least masked this stranger's racket. However soon after hearing she scented the stranger, and realized that it was in fact Nanakin. Narrowing her eyes she turned to Rhythm and wondered if she should warn him. The klutzy white male would undoubtedly bring them down on the hunt, and make stealth and strategy much harder, because she doubted he could do anything except trip over his own paws, but the added muscle might be helpful. Sooner than she thought he would arrive he did, and landed almost straight in front of them, causing Rhythm to back up, and her to as well so as not to be knocked over by either hulking brute. She almost snarled, but instead put on a condescending front, and almost rolled her eyes at Rhythm's pronunciation of the name, and his glance towards her for what to do with the situation. She didn't like it any more than he did, but at least she could get the name right. In an easy tone she tried to appear somewhat friendly, but the sweetness in it was almost sickening to her own ears. "Nanakin, what are you doing here?" She had no time for introductions and doubted the white blundering wolf would remember her name anyway no matter how simple it was. She might as well ignore him for all the intelligence it would bring to the conversation. She really just wanted to get on with this hunt, maybe the extra brawn would be useful, but she didn't doubt Rhythm's abilities and wasn't all that keen on babysitting a giant oaf who couldn't even walk in a straight line let alone stay quiet enough to get within a mile radius of any prey. Her expression remained placid, and she realized just how much she let her guard down around Rhythm when she had to don it again, it made her nervous, almost as nervous as how she would explain to him without involving the other wolf there. Her ears flickered the only indecision she let show.

(Quickie)
Rhythm gave a bored look at the white wolf, as if trying to over look the wolfs indecisive judgment on things, though Rhythm was fully aware that a wolf by the Name Echo had been tagging along, he no longer seen this wolf anywhere to be. Giving his neck fur a aggressive shake before he sneezed a bit, his eyes laid on the white wolf's before he licked his black gums and moistening his muzzle and nose. He words head fast, and without thought he soon asked the question which only in time would tell him were the other clumsy wolf had went. "Wheres that other wolf you was tagging along with earlier? Bear got her? Lost? Ran into a porcupine?" Done listing what he wanted to say, he was pretty sure there where to be far more to be listed, but he decided to give the white wolf a chance in order to gather up enough information without completely overriding his brain. "Surely she was tagging along with you awhile ago." he then added after, not fully conscious of how he began to attack the white wolfs recall system, and it wasn't like Rhythm really cared, but he'd hate to have known something happened to the silly wolf. Though his eyes narrowed, he had smelled the soon approaching of small game and began to walk forward flicking his tail to signal Whisper to follow, and as he went around Nanakin, he shifted his weight off to the side a bit before making a small notion. "We can talk about it along the way, if your smart enough to follow." Rhythm words sharp to the tone and his eyes narrowing a bit. It was clearly up to the white wolf if he wanted to follow or not, but Rhythm was pretty sure Napkin or Nanakin would soon follow. He knew Whisper thought Nanakin to get in the way, but they needed him, no matter what she thought of him, or what he thought of the clumsy ox. Waiting for Whisper to take place in head of them since Rhythm sensed she knew the land better than he did he abide his steps carefully along the path.
Wolves mentioned: Echo, Whisper, Nanakin. Wolves Addressed: Whisper, Nanakin. OOC: I'm pretty sure Rhythm's new nickname for Nanakin Is napkin now.
