Whisper allowed her senses to wash over her as she realized what was happening a moment too late. She really should have noticed, and been more alert. Maybe even surveying her alpha more carefully. Suddenly a tremor wracked through the other female's body, and a pup appeared. Whisper watched in something akin to awe as the alpha took the pup and cleaned it. Something she realized after a second that she should have probably helped with. That was part of the reason why she was here right? Pushing thoughts of Rhythm away as she focused for once in awhile on the now, now this was happening. She caught Kipxin's goofy and almost tipsy look, and forced a smile on her face. It was natural to act, but somehow it was harder to make it genuine. Not for lack of joy, but she thought that her alpha deserved a real smile for this occasion, and she found it a little hard to give her one. Still, there was work to be done.
Her mind reeled unsure of how to keep Kipxin calm, and also asses her and the pup's state in between the others. While the other pups were important this one wasn't any less, and she needed to make sure it was okay. She couldn't tell if it was feeding or not, or if Kipxin looked okay. The rational part of her brain told her that females delivered healthy and perfect litters often enough that she should not be worried. And even if one didn't survive it would be normal, and statistically lucky if only one was lost. Still the irrational side that she felt surfacing kept worries pressed on her.
She didn't know how well her alpha had been eating. She herself was fine, not the best, but she managed surprisingly well on her own. She could exist on mostly smaller game, as that was what her species at in the first place. Kipxin on the other hand...She had been in heat, and so obviously couldn't hunt for herself. Was she alright? It was hard to tell, seeing as the pups could easily cover up any lack figure, and Whisper worried for Kipxin. And besides she hadn't even done a perimeter check so she had not idea if there was a predator in the area. But of course this was prime hunting grounds and wolves hadn't actively patrolled it for at least a season, and of course the bears would take advantage of that if there were any within a twenty mile radius. Even if she didn't know what twenty miles was it was still understood. She needed to step up her game. And she needed to be better, and they needed Rhythm, and maybe even those other wolves who she hadn't thought to be too bright. However Nanakin's strength, and Echo's energy might be useful.
For a flash of a second she wished that she didn't have to depend on others, that she could make this work for her alpha by herself. But even she wasn't foolish enough to abandon what in essence was; pack.

Filler Post; This is not accurate, I was just writing.
The wolf paced over and over the same spot. A heavy scent mark had been left there, not that he usually minded. Still he didn't need to cross he could always go around, the prey in the area didn't seem particularly inviting, and he hadn't received any responses to his search for a mate. Still he yearned to explore it, to test this pack that thought they could keep him off the territory. Smirking lightly to himself his decision was made, with no mind towards the customs he pad straight across the border. He was able to travel for an entire day until he finally found the live scent of another wolf.
His mind swam, a female. Grinning to himself he relaxed slightly, but his muscles tensed underneath his coat. Who was this? A wolf suddenly came into view, she wasn't threatening, and he relaxed his posture to be casual, he was not looking for a fight with her. He waited, he was the intruder, and yet he had not yet been attacked. She swished her tail, and he responded back with a slight smile. Seeing as he wasn't threatening her the grey phase female advanced, already having scented him, but doing so in more length as he in turn scented her. Wagging his tail the male grinned and nudged the female. Nudging him back they trot off the territory lines in search of one for their own

Rhythm slightly huffed at the smell of the air unsure of what to make sure of the new smell that filled his nostrils.. Should he run? His mind ran with ideas of slightly thoughts of making a decision like that, but yet another part of him forced him to stay and let his curiosity grow. Who was the other female scent; that led Whisper away from him so easily? Feeling his neck fur perk up slightly he allowed his ears to droop down against his skull before he let his eyes wonder around the area in search of Whisper, and the 'mystery wolf' It could be possible as he had guessed before that the wolf scent Whisper had went off into the direction to--to be Whispers alpha.. But why hadn't Whisper told him about this wolf before? shaking his head, a small gust of wind whipped through his pelt and he gritted his teeth in a annoying way that made him regret even gritting his teeth. Still, his mind was lost in thought of why Whisper had left no word with him of who she had went after.. Yet, he hadn't really earned the honor for her to tell her everything, he would have at least liked the heads up. Shaking his head he muttered to himself with a small hint of anger coursing through his veins.
Giving his tail a rough flick towards a tree trunk, it made a soft thump rather then something that would of satisfied his anger just a little. When he thought about it again, it all made him confused and frustrated at what was going on. He seemed to not be able to comprehend it all rather it would be best if he just confront her later with his questions. Rhythm knew anger wasn't going to solve why she hadn't told him about what was going on. Feeling the scent particularly slap him in the face as he approached, a cave was in his bare grasp of seeking out his longing desire to know why and where Whisper had went off to. Letting his muscles begin to tense up under his stomach it was almost as if he was trying to keep his stomach from falling on the ground. Butterflies had seemed to have somehow started to start their fluttery parade having their annually little party making him simply want to barf, but at the same time wanting to see what it was to cure what was going on in his stomach and in his mind at that particular moment.
Letting his paws gently pull him into the entrance cave, yet a sight that didn't surprise him. Whisper.. It was strange yet relieving sight to see her there. His eyes briefly looked at her before he dipped his head down gently in acknowledgment before his hetero colored orbs gazed over to the other female that lay on the floor. He hadn't mean to stare. So instead he hung his head rather unsure of how to completely introduce himself or even if there was even any need for a introduction. He wasn't sure what to do.

Whisper kept her senses trained on Kipxin, but her focus never completely left Rhythm, it was odd how she wasn't able to keep her hearing and smell partially kept on him. Still she glanced at the jet black ball of fur. Her ears flickered, and she gazed at it, not in the eyes, but at the entirety of it, as she guided it towards its mothers belly. It was strange to her, she had never had pups, but she didn't think that that particular reason was why it was strange. She thought it was just odd, and she didn't know what to do with it, or how to treat it, how to think of it, or even how to act around it. She knew that the pup would most likely not be able to think and process information coherently until a few days had passed. She couldn't remember anything before her second week of living. Before was just a time that she knew had occurred by deduction that she couldn't be born three weeks old. She watched Kipxin, and had no idea what to do, she knew that it was her job to explore new things, and warn her alpha. But she didn't handle danger, and this entire situation seemed if not danger slightly crazy. Still she guessed that this was what all wolves did when they gave birth, and at least Kipxin seemed strong, not at all week. And she was fairly sure that Kole was a grey wolf so there would be no gaping size different that might matter. Suddenly it registered in Whisper's brain that Rhythm had reached the entrance, the fact was something she knew, because her senses had never really stopped keeping track of him. She saw his eyes go to her, and she too had no idea what to say or do. She wanted Kipxin to invite him into the pack, and she wanted him to join. But all of that was out of her reach, it was Kipxin's decision, and she wasn't sure if he wanted to join a pack. He seemed fairly content being alone, aside from the banter he exchanged with her, but during the few hours she had known him she knew they weren't a pack. There had been companionship, and she had wanted to spend more time with him, and if she considered it she still did, but her pack had to come first. It was a strange thought that popped into her mind, she hadn't really considered herself that loyal, but it wasn't fully conscious, just something that was, so she didn't have much of an opportunity to ponder it. Instead she resolved to wait until later, when Kipxin was ready to discuss it, glancing at him she said softly, not trying to give orders, more of a suggestion "Guard the entrance." It wasn't that she didn't trust him, well to trust any wolf with her alpha when she was so vulnerable would be hard for her to do, but she wasn't sure she could handle him, and Kipxin in this situation. Although she wasn't arrogant enough to think that he didn't have a choice. wolves mentioned: Rhythm, Kipxin, Kole wolves addressed: Rhythm ooc: your post was actually pretty good. Breathing heavily, Kipxin felt the now familiar pull in her lower back and out crowned a second pup. Labor becoming more of a routine, Kipxin birthed another pup and now there were three little male pups lying in a neat order by her stomach and nursing greedily.
The alphess, though she was overcome with joy, was tired and approached a state of absolute fatigue. There was one pup left to birth, and with one exhausted push, the tiny pup crowned and plopped gently on the earth beneath her.
Kipxin, as she had done three times before, pulled the pup towards her and cleaned it meticulously. This pup was significantly smaller than the others, but was completely white, unlike its brothers, and to her absolute joy, discovered it to be a girl.
She placed the tiny female puppy next to the three brothers and sighed deeply. With ease, she pushed free the afterbirth and laid her head on her oversized paws. With one eye open, she looked up at Whisper who had been her silent companion throughout the entire process. She knew there was another wolf present, but if Whisper believed there to be danger, she trusted her to warn her - Whisper had never been one to fight.
Sore and absolutely fatigued, the Alpha was proud there wasn't any complications with the birth. She worried for her pups mortality, especially her tiny white daughter, but for now the scent of their healthy nuzzling bodies made her content.

Whisper waited through it, feeling utterly useless. The tiny white female made her heart pound, the words were not there and she waited for a moment before looking out, and seeing Rhythm. She didn't care what had to be done, even if she had to depend upon this wolf who was in the entrance whom she barely knew; every single one of these pups would live. It was unrealistic, fanciful, and foolish all rolled up into one. Mortality rates being what they were in the wild, but she wanted the white female to live. And she didn't want her alpha or her pack to lose these precious new lives.
Letting out a huff of air she lay down, and waited for a little while, the moment held in the air. Four pups, and maybe even a strong new member in Rhythm. She would have to hunt for her alpha soon, she wasn't sure she wanted to leave Kipxin with Rhythm in this time. There was little gauging how that might go, and to ask him to share a kill when he hadn't even been accepted into the pack was too much to ask. So she waited for the situation to play out.
It wasn't that she didn't trust either of them, but it had been awhile since she had seen or even interacted with Kipxin, she had no idea if her alpha had changed, and they hadn't had a very strong relationship to begin with. As far as Rhythm went she had a feeling about him, but that only made her more wary as she couldn't let her feelings get in the way of her judgement of his rather questionable character. wolves mentioned: Rhythm, Pups, Kipxin |wolves addressed: none |

The alpha was awakened by the mewing of her puppies. Suckling and gently nudging into her side, the pups explored their mother's side with paws and noses. Their tiny bodies rolled around, unacquainted with the ground beneath them.
Letting out a small yawn, the alpha grinned at Whisper, who seemed uncomfortable.
"Are you alright?" she asked the small female beside her.
The alpha was confused, Though Whisper and her hadn't been exceptionally close like she herself and Azreal were, she was close enough to know Whisper's character, and to know that if Azreal was still around, that Whisper would have been the Beta female. She wondered where the discomfort stemmed from, especially after all they had been through through the winter. Whisper was now the only wolf on earth who knew her the way the old pack did...
It brought sadness to the alphess' heart to think that her would-be-beta acted as if she didn't know her.

Whisper waited and then heard Kipxin's words. She felt bad that she wasn't better and more caring for her alpha. She cared about Kipxin, but the feeling confused her, as it was hard to distinguish where her value for the alpha position ingrained in her instincts, and her love for the real wolf ended and began. Thinking about it for only a moment more she knew the pause only made her more suspicious so she smiled apologetically forcing the unfamiliar feeling onto her face and said "Worried, I just have no idea how much has changed, in the land, in the pack. And tired, although" She allowed a real smile to show through and concern glimmered in her eyes "I should be asking you that. I'll go hunt, do you trust the wolf outside to guard the entrance?" She just wanted to know, and she wanted her alpha's approval for the pack to grow, and know that she wouldn't be doing this all alone; even if she would die trying. Loyalty she mused, it did funny things.

Rhythm's tail lightly scaled against his leg as he watched what was happening before his eyes. At that certain part of time, he wasn't sure if his entrance on the laboring wolfs den appropriate and with that he felt out of place of his existence there. Was it the right time to even attempt to introduce himself? Backing further away from the entrance, his hind leg paw slipped slightly making his neck fur stand on end. Twitching his left ear, Rhythm gave a deep breath before looking down at his paws unsure of what would happen next. Though he was happy, and at the same time confused and frustrated to see Whisper there a small feeling of being left out dawned on his somewhat organized mind. He couldn't even really begin to try and think straight; everything happened in slow motion and it seemed the whole world had forgot it's normal pacing. Looking up, he had not noticed a small rusty color leaf fall on his head. Was he being that absent minded? He couldn't recall a time he had been that way in a long time and it made him dread the feeling even more so. Looking from Whisper to the other female, he glanced slightly at the pups she had just gave life to. To him, it was a very strange - odd sight to even witness. So fragile, yet life filling their bodies to the fullest. He questioned in his mind what was in store for them, who would they turn out to be; his eyes sparkle with a small curiosity and he gave his head a small tilt examining them all, what was he looking for? Backing up again once more he shook his head before closing his eyes lightly. Turning away from the den, he wasn't sure if he should stay any longer, he should be on his way like he had been before.. Siting down, his head lazily drooped, his eyes wonder around the landscape briefly admiring the small view present to him at that moment.
A small voice was heard from the den, which Rhythm dared to look back, but something had held him back from even moving a muscle to look back. His tail moving in a snake like 'S' motion on the ground, a small amount of dirt kicked up creating a small dust storm that soon settled back down to the ground where a few patches of small green came up from. Though he was a bit far to really make out the conversation, he had a small curiosity to know what they where talking about. He didn't completely feel safe though; if Whisper hadn't told him about this what else was in store for him? Another surprise? His bones ached at the feeling. His ears rotating on the sides of his ears, he radar the sounds around him to perhaps block out his thinking for once. Sighing, he looked up at a small bird in a tree that oddly looked like the one he had saw earlier.

Whisper paused, she knew Kipxin was tired, and she needed rest, and food. So she got up to leave the den, and said "I'm going hunting, I think you'll be fine, the den is," It was more spacious than one would think, but like any good den the entrance was narrow "Perfect." She wished that she could have been there to help, she should have been. Then she left, her eyes took seconds to adjust to the light, and she crawled out of the den, her smaller frame allowing much easier access than a larger wolf, and she had no idea how Kipxin had managed this. Inside she hadn't felt as bad, but now she could feel her breathing pick up. The fear of the area had been second to the fear that something would go wrong, but then she had felt her throat closing up. Now the air felt different, but soon it was welcomed back into her lungs. It appeared as if he was in his own world, the air was so thick in the den that she could barely scent a thing outside the richness of the milk, and puppies. Whisper's ears flickered as she listened to a bird sing a simple tune, and then glanced finally at the black mass near her. Her body was fully emerged from the den, and she sat down lightly. She was ready to spring away, and yet she was feeling more inclined to lean towards Rhythm's warmth despite the warmth of the season. Her gaze could no longer be considered a glance, as the thrum of a slight breeze ruffled through her pelt, and she realized that she had been staring. Looking away her mind filled with things that she should say, and the truth. It was still a surprise that Kipxin had been there. That like many wolves she had traversed for long lengths of time and found a different territory. Her ears flickered again as she thought, and then she got up. Her pelt brushed up against his, and she said evenly "Want to hunt?" She didn't think anything could be exactly the same now that Kipxin was here, now that even if he wasn't, Azreal was here. And again she was struggling to think of the words. Her paws now all four beneath her she wondered what color her eyes were. His were a rather odd, two colors. The sun was deciding to set, and she wondered where to go. There were several places, and she began to head off in a direction. Carefully mapping out the territory mentally, from what she had been exploring this past time. Looking back another twist of her ears, and the song was no longer playing, she wondered why it would matter to her if he came or not. She wasn't going to get any better at hunting, and would probably have to resort to asking if he could help, she shut her eyes that would be embarrassing. Friends, she wondered, and mused at it, entertaining no real seriousness in the thought. She thought of Kipxin as something resembling but more than a friend, Azreal was who he was, and she had never really known Kole or anyone else in the pack. Her tail swished as she waited for him to make his decision. wolves mentioned: Kipxin, Pups, Rhythm wolves addressed: Kipxin, Rhythm ooc: YAY!

Rhythm's eyes had been everywhere but the entrance to the den. He tried to trace a certain thought; he wanted something to spark his memory. Something to take his mind off of his wondering mind and thoughts. Though it wasn't something completely he was expecting, a small light beamed though the trees down upon him; the shadows of the leaves above him dance upon the ground in a joyful remorse. Sighing lightly, his he felt himself able to breath more better, easily. Letting his bottom jaw slightly hang open in a careless way the bird he had spotted in the tree earlier had looked down upon him before tilting it's head at him in a inquisitive manner. It's small beady eyes held something Rhythm wasn't completely sure he couldn't read correctly. Squinting his eyes, he raised a eyebrow at the bird tilting his head in the same manner, making it play out as if it was a game of copy cat. The corners of his lips curled up into a grin as he watched the bird, copying everything - to his best ability; and the fact that he couldn't help but grin all the more lightly grind away what was bugging at his conscious. It was funny how the littlest of things could cure something so big. His eyes shifting direction, the fur on his neck; spiking in a upward direction shifted around in the wind as it lifted and seem to swirl around him. He wondered what that bird thought about him? Did it even care, or was it simply laughing at him? Raising a brow, he pulled his expression into a neutral position before listening to the birds wings flap in a rustled manner before it flew off chirping, and at this same time, Whisper had appeared from the den. She seemed almost like a small weight was released off her chest as she emerged which only made him wonder what had completely happened there. Did something bad happen? He frowned at his own greed to know what had happened in at that certain point in time.
Tilting his head once more, time seemed to have swiveled to a stop, before lightly taking it's time torturing him in a way. His eyes sharply eyed her as she came out the den. He wanted to say something, but it wasn't the right time or the right place, plus he didn't even know if what he was about to say would even be logically appropriate at the moment. Holding his tongue, he just watched her actions carefully before giving a small sigh of relief.. Yet his mind was so confused now, the gears in his head seemed to have malfunctioned and begin to rust away. What he thought he knew.. Shaking his head lightly his eyes soften a bit as her pelt brushed against his and at that very moment, a small involuntary shiver ran down his spine sharply, grasping his breath from his body trying to force him to lose himself. At that moment, he wanted to be closer to her.. Yet.. to afraid to venture on to that certain level. Listening to her words, he pulled back his head in a.. he wasn't really sure what type of manner to call it. Hunting? she asked him? Rhythms lips turned into a small grin as he watched her walk a few feet in front of him before she turned around to face him. His tail flicking over his big paws, he stood up on all fours before giving his pelt a rough shake. Though he wasn't sure if he really could trust.. her.. something told him it was completely fine to tag along with her for a little while longer. "Ah, hunting I see." His facial expression turned into a wide grin, his voice crisp and clear, he did his best to hide as if any of this even effected him in a way that completely made him seem like he had been pulled around the ring around quite too many times. Trotting up along side her, he held her gaze softly before smirking. "Where to miss Whisper?" His tail flick against her leg lightly as he watched her somehow getting wrapped up in her beauty. Yet a question thudded at the back of his head, he needed to know more.. And he was pretty sure what he knew so far was only the tip of the iceberg.

Her ears flickered, and her eyes portrayed an expression akin to a raft drifting through the sea, but the rest of her face was surprisingly neutral, calm. Her ears remained wide to sound, the chirp of the bird that had flown away still on the edges of her consciousness, as she waited for a piece of prey to decide to show itself. Following a path she knew well as it was the best hunting spot; a piece of the forest south of the den site, there was a river that ran through there, as well as trees for cover, and for the wolves, she grinned to herself: ridges, crevices, and mountains that offered a good view and hiding place to spot prey and plan hunts. She wondered where Rhythm had come from, she wouldn't be surprised if he had wandered here, the valley was something rare, a perfect place for wolves. She never felt trapped here, it was so vast that she doubted that the urge to leave would ever come upon her. Still her mind turned back to the hunt, her stride was even, and just a step away from being brisk. She didn't want to miss any tracks, or the faintest scent, but she also wanted to get to her destination, if they didn't find anything on the way then at least there would be plenty of tracks where she was headed. The she wolf barely thought twice as she began to think of them as a team. She felt small as he fell in step behind him, he was muscular, and a large mass of fur. She didn't feel especially diminished, but still, her mind registered his question as the scenery suddenly was shoved to the back. She remembered that they had planned a tour of the territory, and she also remembered the others. There was a high likelihood of many wolves who had found and settled into Mercy while there had been no patrols and no wolves except for her, Kipxin, and other loners. When and if there were more scouts and guardians there would begin a long process of asking if they would like to stay, or if they would like to be escorted off the territory. She stored that question away for Rhythm, she wanted him to stay, but another part of her wondered at the rationality of it. Of course he was strong, he had survived, but. She snapped back to answering his question, a rather embarrassing moment, but her face didn't show it, besides an incremental widening of her eyes before they returned to their normal size and she answered "South, there is a forest with rather advantageous positions for wolves smart enough to use them. Hopefully you find my answer satisfactory sir." A hint of a challenge, she was silent after that though, she had no idea how to answer the questions she knew he had. He never struck her as thoughtless, accepting maybe, but she wasn't foolish enough to believe he didn't have questions. Her paws fell lightly on the ground, almost willing the earth to allow her to pass through unnoticed, a scent remained, but the impressions were so shallow they would easily be missed, and most likely blown away with the next breeze. The land was still mostly empty, a speck of green and new growth appearing occasionally to dot her vision, but the area around the den site offered little real cover. She wondered why, but it didn't really matter to her, as she would have stayed with Kipxin no matter where the den was located in Mercy. Her nose found several creatures, none of which she was entirely keen on eating. She had of course tried most of them, whether out of curiosity or hunger. She would prefer a rabbit, squirrel, and might even be perfectly happy with a mouse or vole, but she knew that Kipxin would need something more. And Rhythm, he was, if she were starving then he would be twice as big as her. She was doing well, the territory was plentiful, and she was healthy, but still he was significantly larger she was. He would need to eat more than her. The same breeze continued to bring in sounds she would have never heard before, and block out the sounds she might otherwise have heard, the scents too were different. She still was able to be aware enough to feel relatively safe, but the wind was another factor that made hunting either easier or harder. The ground was solid beneath her, but in the forest she knew there would be debris, and on stone there would be other difficulties. She sighed internally, she wished she was better at hunting.

It was funny, it was suppose to be funny, he thought it would have been absolutely hilarious; and yet no one was laughing. No one was laughing, they were just staring, he would have liked to think they were just so surprised, so happy, so amused that they were just gobsmacked, but it was rather difficult for him to misread the situation. It really was just supposed to be a harmless, funny, normal, joke. Still, there was that word, it did turn out rather horribly.
